Structrual Fitter

FITTER

Position:
Full‑time temporary.

Location:

New Orleans area.

$25–$26 per hour depending on experience.

Monday through Friday. Hours can vary.

• Fit and align steel components for hull replacements, tanks, and structural assemblies.
• Read and interpret measurements, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure proper fit and placement.
• Prepare materials, organize work spaces, and ensure all components are ready for welding.
• Assist with cutting and shaping steel using tools such as oxy‑acetylene or similar equipment.
• Inspect fitted components to ensure accuracy before welding begins.
• Assist with general fitter duties, including material handling and project preparation.

• Prior experience fitting steel in an industrial environment.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (50–75 pounds) frequently throughout the shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods.
• Dependable, punctual, and safe. Must follow all safety procedures and wear proper protective equipment.
• Works well with others and follows supervisor directions.
• Previous experience in fitter operations, structural fitting, or similar industrial work is strongly preferred.

• 6 paid holidays after 1 year of continuous service and 1,500 hours.
