Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services. Position located at LA Correctional Institute for Women, St. Gabriel, LA. This role focuses on installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures while supporting all areas of the prison.

• At least 4 years of experience or training in pipe fitting, steam fitting, or plumbing.

• Maintenance, repair, and replacement of all plumbing, sewage, water, and gas distribution systems.
• Repair of systems during weekend on‑call duty.
• Training and supervising inmates who assist in plumbing repairs.
• Provide general maintenance support throughout the facility.

Directly supervised by the Maintenance Manager, working with maintenance staff and inmate orderlies trained for maintenance work.

Probationary or promotion of a permanent classified Louisiana State employee; temporary appointments may be used to fill a vacancy.

Maximum salary amounts listed are the maximum at each level over a career and not the amount allowed for a new hire.

Includes defined benefit pension plan, health insurance available post‑retirement, at least 10 paid holidays, sick and annual leave that rolls over, paid time off for hours worked over 40 per week, deferred compensation plan, flexible benefits, and alternative work schedules such as 4/10.
