Basic purpose

To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.

** essential duties and responsibilities*
* + troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (thermo king & carrier trailer refrigeration systems, reefer microprocessors, etc.).

+ perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.

+ mentor other maintenance shop personnel.

+ receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.

+ utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.

+ maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.

+ willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.

** onsite** : the associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a us foods maintenance facility.

** minimum qualifications*
* + must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a fleet reefer/refrigeration technician. Tk/carrier refrigeration certifications.

+ must be willing to travel and attend training provided by us foods.

+ diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.

+ successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ must furnish own personal hand tools.

+ ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals.

* + high school diploma or equivalent required.

** certifications/training*
* + epa 608 (type 2 or universal) & epa 609 certifications

** licenses*
* + must possess a valid driver's license.

** preferred qualifications*
* + ability to comply with epa and osha & dot regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.

+ computer and software experience/ noregon diag equip/a/c recovery, etc.

+ able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.

+ welding ability

+ valid class a cdl license and dot certification
