We are now accepting resume/applications for EXPERIENCED Carpentersfor the
Garyville, LA
and surrounding areas.

  • Job Scope:
    • Responsible for working with wood to build and repair structures and other items and they also may have to select and source appropriate materials depending on project needs. Theirdutiesinclude calculating quotes, meeting with clients and creating design plans for remodeling projects.
  • Position Requirements:
    • Valid TWIC
    • Valid OSHA
      • Will be required to take Marathon Site Orientation
    • Must be able to pass hair follicle test
    • Must be able to pass criminal background check
  • Required Skills:
    • MUST HAVE 5 YEARS MIN EXPERIENCE
    • Proven experience as carpenter
    • Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints
    • Ability to take measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed
    • Strong oral & written communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively with others
    • Excellent organizational skills, abilityto multi-task
    • Good physical condition and endurance
    • Good understanding of basic math
  • Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
    • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
    • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
    • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
    • Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
    • Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
    • Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
    • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
    • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
    • Build scaffolding and other construction structures
    • Mange housekeeping activities when requested.
      • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
      • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
      • Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.
    • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
    • Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
      • Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
      • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
      • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
      • Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
    • Ability to use hand and power tools.
    • Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
    • Will be required to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl to perform task
    • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
      • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
      • Ability to work in an environment with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
      • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock

  • Must be able to provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, & gloves)
  • Must have reliable transportation (Traveling will be required depending on location of current assignment)
