Electrician I - Helper

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist skilled staff with timely and accurate completion of all work orders and/or instructions provided by the Foreman.

• Retrieve material for journeyman or skilled mechanic required to complete work assignments.
• Maintain, repair and install all electrical equipment in accordance with industry guidelines, local and national codes.
• Answer and respond to service desk calls as necessary.
• Assist with boot layouts, moving of protective floor covering and other materials, and the installation of overhead power drops.
• Assist in routine building maintenance such as changing light bulbs, cleaning of electrical equipment, and inventory control.

Maintain organization and cleanliness of all electrical storage units, tools, materials, and warehouse areas.

Examine electrical units and notify supervisor of any equipment in need of replacement or repair.

Possess knowledge of basic hand tools and power equipment.

• Ability to comply and follow detailed instructions in order to ensure a safe and effective workplace.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Technical school background or apprenticeship program preferred. One to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
