Superintendent (Electrical Construction) – Contract Opportunity

Our client is seeking a field-focused Superintendent to support electrical construction operations in Rayville, LA. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, oversees multiple foremen, and confidently resolves issues as they arise without requiring escalation through multiple management layers.

The Superintendent will play a critical role in coordinating field execution, maintaining productivity, ensuring quality workmanship, and keeping projects on schedule. This position works closely with project managers, contractors, and field personnel to drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review drawings, schematics, and specifications to plan electrical work based on project timelines and staffing needs.
  • Assist with project proposals by providing labor estimates and cost input.
  • Coordinate technician staffing and assemble appropriate field teams for project execution.
  • Procure wiring, materials, and equipment to meet project schedules.
  • Schedule and direct field personnel and subcontractors performing electrical work.
  • Coordinate construction phases to prevent delays and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Allocate electricians and resources across company operations as needed, including shop or maintenance support.
  • Train electricians and helpers to ensure compliance with project requirements and schedules.
  • Resolve field issues involving customers, contractors, and employees.
  • Provide weekly schedule and status updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot electrical panels without schematics or drawings when necessary.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure quality standards, schedule adherence, and site housekeeping expectations are met.
  • Update drawings, schematics, and documentation as required.
  • Develop and utilize workforce tracking tools including checklists, punch lists, and site inspections.

Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Associate's degree (AA) from a technical school or
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship with related experience or
  • Equivalent combination of education and field experience.
  • Working knowledge of the latest National Electrical Code (NEC) required.
  • Experience supervising field crews and coordinating electrical construction activities preferred.
Certifications & Licenses
  • Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Valid driver's license required (travel between job sites).
Technical & Professional Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, and technical documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic algebra and geometry calculations related to construction work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervises approximately 5–15 employees within the Electrical Construction Department.
  • Responsibilities include hiring support, training, work assignment, performance management, and conflict resolution in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Work Environment
  • Frequent exposure to electrical hazards.
  • Occasional work at heights, outdoors, or in environments with airborne particles.
