Insulator - Austin Industrial (Plaquemine, LA)

Must be able to apply, remove, and repair insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers and buildings to help control noise and maintain temperatures. Other duties may be assigned.

• Read blueprints and select required insulation material.
• Work at heights.
• Apply adhesives to metal or insulation as directed.
• Determine the amounts and select required insulation material (sheet, tubular, or roll) such as fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, and urethane based on performance and application.
• Measure and cut insulation to specified size using tape measure, handsaw, knife or scissors.
• Fit, wrap, or attach insulation around or to the structure following blueprint specifications.
• Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape and secure with staple gun, trowel, paintbrush or caulking gun.
• Other duties as assigned.

talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Experience – 4 years of experience as an insulator is preferred.

Certification/License – NCCER, valid TWIC Card, and driver’s license.
