Facilities Operations Specialist - Starting Pay $30/hr

Under minimal supervision, performs general and non-routine building and equipment maintenance including installing, adjusting, servicing, and repairing equipment, fixtures, and devices. Builds and repairs wooden and metal fixtures (shelving, carts, counters, cabinets) and supports installation of walls, shelving, lighting fixtures, and workstation systems.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain building mechanical and electrical systems including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air-handling units, and related components
- Operate automated control systems for environmental controls and assist with troubleshooting alarms and system issues
- Perform HVAC inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs/adjustments to maintain appropriate temperature and humidity
- Install, adjust, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical equipment, including security/surveillance and other electronic equipment
- Install and maintain office furniture, including modular systems furniture and workstations
- Perform basic plumbing tasks and replace bulbs/fixtures as needed
- Patch and paint surfaces; install/finish drywall and ceiling tile; and install floor coverings (carpet tile, vinyl, rubber tile)
- Follow safety standards, complete emergency shutdown procedures when required, cross-train teammates, and perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate degree or 2 years equivalent experience preferred - Less than two years of related facilities/building/equipment maintenance experience
- Basic electrical and basic mechanical skills; able to use hand and power tools safely
- Must be able to occasionally move about inside and outside the facility to access equipment rooms, mechanical spaces, offices, and work areas
- Must be able to position self in tight/awkward spaces and occasionally ascend/descend ladders to inspect or repair equipment
- Frequently uses hands to operate tools/equipment for installation, troubleshooting, and repair
- Must be able to move, transport, position, and install tools, parts, and materials
- Must be able to exchange accurate information verbally and in writing
- Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor work; exposure to tools, cleaning solvents, loud equipment, and hot/cold temperatures; may share work spaces with others
- Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm
- Overtime available as needed
