Job Description

Unite Contracting is seeking a Pipe Welder TIG to lead the welding team, primarily focusing on TIG steel pipe welding in a shop environment. This role demands expertise in TIG welding techniques, weld preparation, and strict adherence to industry standards such as ASME, AWS, and API. The ideal candidate combines technical proficiency with leadership skills to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient welds while interpreting complex blueprints and maintaining detailed welding documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on steel pipes with precision and safety
• Prepare materials and surfaces for welding according to job specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints to guide welding activities
• Document welding processes and maintain accurate records
• Lead and coordinate welding team activities to meet project goals
• Ensure compliance with welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API)
• Conduct weld inspections and uphold welding safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in TIG pipe welding
• Vocational training in welding or related field
• Expertise in TIG welding and blueprint interpretation
• Knowledge of welding safety standards and weld inspection techniques
• Strong hand-eye coordination
