Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Maintains all greenery and landscaping throughout the property including all maintenance of planters and water systems.

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license.
• Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team player.
• Must possess excellent customer service skill.
• Must be able to work any day, any shift.
• Must have at least two years previous experience in landscaping or gardening with appropriate certification.

• Maintain health, vitality and appearance of all shrubs, trees and ornamental plants.
• Maintain and repair all sprinklers and waterlines associated with above areas.
• Groom all flower beds and expose soil on a daily basis.
• Assist laborers, when needed, with large jobs.
• Must meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.

• Must be able to hear in the full audible range in high noise conditions and possess average vision and color perception.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, and carry heavy loads, run level surfaces as well as up or down stairs.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must possess coordination and dexterity to drive power sweeper, forklifts, scissor lifts and other equipment.

• Must be able to work in extremes of temperature in excess of 115 degrees or below 10 degrees.
• Must be able to think clearly and respond calmly in emergency situations.
• Must be able to learn and retain locations, operation and repair procedures of the property’s equipment.
