Role Description The Diesel Technician is highly skilled professional capable of performing

comprehensive diagnoses and repairs across all areas of vehicle maintenance. This role requires not

only broad expertise in general repair tasks but also a specialization in at least one specific

area of repair. Unlike Service Technician B Class, Technician - Class A demonstrates advanced

diagnostic abilities and proficiency in specialized repair techniques. The position demands a high

level of technical acumen and the ability to address complex mechanical issues efficiently. This

ensures that our dealership maintains the highest standards of service and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology or heavy-duty truck repair is beneficial.
  • Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the work order.
  • Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Attends and completes all company training as assigned.
