Position Overview
The Impact Manager will directly manage 5–10 Ameri Corps members at one partner school, focusing on improving student performance through targeted interventions in ELA and math. The role reports to the Managing Director of Impact and serves as the primary liaison between City Year and the school site, ensuring necessary conditions and resources for high‑quality interventions.
What You’ll Do- Ameri Corps Member Management: Motivate and engage members, conduct ongoing check‑ins and performance reviews, manage HR documentation, and mitigate risk by escalating concerns.
- Ameri Corps Member Development: Observe and coach instructional practice, review student impact data, and design professional development trainings during Learning and Development Days.
- Program Development: Lead or support site‑wide initiatives, service days, and site events; participate in member interviewing.
- After‑School Program: Coordinate high‑quality, safe, and well‑organized after‑school programming in partnership with school leadership.
- School Partner Management: Build sustainable partnerships with administrators, content specialists, and teachers; collaborate with the RTI coordinator and Impact Team to identify students in need of intervention and adjust interventions based on progress monitoring data.
- Ensure the program model—including requirements and prohibited activities—is understood and implemented at the placement school.
- Passion for coaching 17‑25‑year‑olds through a challenging work experience.
- Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
