Location: Bridge City
Juvenile Justice Specialist – Levels 1, 2, or 3
Office of Juvenile Justice – Bridge City Center for Youth (3225 River Road, Bridge City, LA 70094). The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law‑abiding citizens.
Responsibilities- Supervise and monitor youth in secure care settings to ensure safety and compliance.
- Implement behavior management strategies and enforce facility rules.
- Facilitate daily routines including meals, recreation, education, and programming.
- Conduct searches, inspections, and security checks.
- Document incidents, behaviors, and progress in case records.
- Serve as a role model and mentor, promoting positive decision‑making and accountability.
- Assist in crisis intervention and de‑escalation when necessary.
- Collaborate with counselors, educators, and medical staff to support youth rehabilitation.
- High school diploma or GED, or one year of experience in any field.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Clean criminal record: applicants with a felony conviction or indictment are disqualified until relief of disabilities is granted.
- Must not have engaged in any form of sexual abuse, or sexual activity with a victim who did not consent or was unable or refused.
- Must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c).

May be filled as a Juvenile Justice Specialist 1, 2, or 3. - Compensation:
- The Juvenile Justice Specialist 1 (pay grade PS-105) – Special Entrance Rate of $1,400.00 biweekly.
- The Juvenile Justice Specialist 2 (pay grade PS-106) – Special Entrance Rate of $1,504.00 biweekly.
- The Juvenile Justice Specialist 3 (pay grade PS-108) – Special Entrance Rate of $1,608.80 biweekly.
- Drug screening, valid Louisiana Driver's License, and background check required before appointment.
