Support Workers

Stanley House, Plymouth

27.5 hours and 30 hours per week roles available

£19,240 per annum for working 27.5 hours per week

£20,989 per annum for working 30 hours per week

Our Plymouth Parent’s Accommodation and Support Service (PPAS) is an exciting and vital project providing support and developing living skills to parents (aged 16+) and their children who live in our supported accommodation. We are looking for confident, caring and trustworthy support workers to work at the project on a part time, permanent basis. There are no personal care responsibilities in this role.

As a support worker, you will be helping parents develop their living and parenting skills. We are looking for people with a passion to bring their experience of working with young families into our friendly team. This role involves working evening shifts and weekends until 9pm on a rota basis.

Responsibilities

Help parents and children who are experiencing significant challenges to attain a better life by enabling and supporting them.

  • Be safe.
  • Become sustainably housed.
  • Develop their positive parenting skills.
  • Implement and facilitate group sessions.
  • Promote engagement and support access to community services that can further enhance development.
  • Advise on housing related issues including welfare benefits, finances and budgeting.
