Continuous announcement for a Juvenile Justice Specialist at levels 1, 2, or 3, depending on qualifications and experience. This frontline professional supervises youth in secure care facilities, promotes rehabilitation, and maintains a safe and structured environment.

• Supervise and monitor youth in secure care settings to ensure safety and compliance.
• Implement behavior management strategies and enforce facility rules.
• Facilitate daily routines including meals, recreation, education, and programming.
• Conduct searches, inspections, and security checks.
• Document incidents, behaviors, and progress in case records.
• Serve as a role model and mentor, promoting positive decision‑making and accountability.
• Assist in crisis intervention and de‑escalation when necessary.
• Collaborate with counselors, educators, and medical staff to support youth rehabilitation.

• High school diploma or GED, or one year of experience in any field.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Disqualified if convicted of a felony or under indictment on a felony charge, unless relief is granted.
• Disqualified if convicted of or found to have engaged in sexual abuse or related offenses as specified by the Prison Rape Elimination Act.
• Prior to appointment, must pass a drug screening test, possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and clear a background check.
• This position participates in the E‑Verify system for verification of citizenship and employment authorization.

• Location: Bridge City Center for Youth, Bridge City, LA.
• Appointment Type: Full time, Probational.

• Compensation:
  • Special Entrance Rate for PS‑105 (Level
    1): $1,400.00 biweekly.
  • Special Entrance Rate for PS‑106 (Level
    2): $1,504.00 biweekly.
  • Special Entrance Rate for PS‑108 (Level
    3): $1,608.80 biweekly.
• Legal Requirement: The incumbent must not have been convicted or pleaded nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c).
