Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus: A master's degree in social work.

NOTE:

Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana;
Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As a Social Worker 1-4, the incumbent will:

  • Evaluates clients and recommends the proper level of behavioral health treatment.
  • Interviews clients to assess needs and problems such as education, employment, physical and mental impairment in order to determine the degree and nature of problems related to behavioral health.
  • Provides advanced clinical services through individual, family, and/or group counseling to a complex caseload of behavioral health clients.
  • Prepares person-centered plans for clients based on recommended levels of care.
  • Provides both written and verbal documentation and consultation to other agencies.
  • Assists the clinic manager in designing and implementing programs that address community needs.

The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant. Career Progression Group (CPG):
This position participates in a CPG and may be filled as a Social Worker 1, 2, 3, or 4 level, at which the vacancy is filled be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected.
