The Universal Banker I is responsible for teller and personal banking functions. This position promotes all Midwest Heritage products and services to customers and provides competent and courteous service to existing and prospective customers.
Working HoursRetail locations are open six days a week and extend hours on weekdays. Incumbents must be available Saturdays and for non-traditional banking hours, including weekends and evenings until 6:00pm.

- Complete in‑aisle walks and PA announcements as required.
- Increase account relationships of existing bank customers and attract new customers by introducing them to new products and services.

- Process all types of teller transactions and maintain and balance a cash drawer daily.
- Maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities about Midwest Heritage products and services through ongoing training and internal communications.
- Assist the Operations Supervisor with clerical support including filing, ordering supplies, maintaining office records, and preparing reports.
- Achieve all operations goals continuously.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with the products and services they obtain.
- Proactively and professionally communicate with customers regarding their financial needs.
- Professional presentation and excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong computer and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to report to work when scheduled and on time.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Successful experience in a customer service capacity.
- Previous sales or cash management experience preferred.
- Previous Bank Teller experience preferred.
Classified sedentary/light; ability to sit for long periods and/or stand for long periods. Frequent communication with customers in person and on the phone. Must be able to exchange accurate information. Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer. Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and reading.
WorkingConditions
Primarily 100% inside with occasional local travel. Retail location hours vary week to week including days, evenings until close (6pm), and some weekend hours.
Equipment UsedComputer printouts, incoming mail, calculator, computer terminal, copy machine, fax machine, various software programs.
ContactsThis position works with Midwest Heritage employees, customers, Hy‑Vee employees, vendors, and outside agents doing direct business with Midwest Heritage.

Follow all state and federal regulatory requirements and complete assigned training courses within required time frames. Perform quality work within deadlines. Interact professionally with others.
