Location: Waukee, IA

Job Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with a range of issues, including mental health challenges, family dynamics, and social skills.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to create and implement strategies that support students' social and emotional development.
  • Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources to ensure students receive necessary support and services.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to students and families in emergency situations.
  • Develop and deliver professional development sessions and workshops for staff on topics related to social-emotional learning and mental health.
  • Assist in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans for students with special needs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, interventions, and progress.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Valid Iowa School Social Worker License or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience working as a social worker in a school setting or with children and families preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of social work principles, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the social and emotional well-being of students.
