Job DescriptionPOSITION OVERVIEW Morehouse Parish School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Attendance Intervention Specialist to serve at Delta Elementary School. The Attendance Intervention Specialist plays a critical role in supporting student achievement by promoting regular school attendance, addressing barriers to attendance, and collaborating with families, school personnel, and community resources to improve student engagement and success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Louisiana certification as required by the Louisiana Department of Education and/or the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) for this position.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful educational experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and student information systems.
- Ability to analyze student data and implement intervention strategies to improve student outcomes.
- Must be willing to conduct home visits as needed.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Experience working in a Title I school setting.
- Experience in student services, attendance intervention, counseling, social work, family engagement, or related support services.
- Experience conducting parent conferences and developing intervention plans.
- Experience utilizing JCampus, Edgear, or similar student information and reporting systems.
- Experience working with at-risk students and families.
- Monitor and maintain accurate student attendance records in accordance with district and state
- Identify students with chronic absenteeism, excessive tardiness, and truancy concerns.
- Communicate with parents, guardians, and students regarding attendance concerns, expectations, and improvement strategies.
- Conduct attendance conferences with students and families to develop attendance improvement plans.
- Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers, social workers, and staff.
- Analyze attendance data and prepare reports.
- Support compliance with Louisiana compulsory attendance laws and district policies.
- Identify attendance barriers and connect families with resources.
- Conduct home visits when appropriate and authorized.
- Assist with attendance initiatives and incentive programs.
- Monitor daily attendance submissions for accuracy.
- Support dropout prevention initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Participate in professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
