Essential Functions:
Assist participants in developing and executing a personalized
Individual Career Plan that aligns with their individual goals and fostersself-sufficiency. This includes providing mentorship, identifying immediateandlong-term needs, assessing employability, and recognizing barriers or assets that impact participants' ability to achieve self-sufficiency. Regular communication with service providers will be required to assess participantprogress. Offer ongoing counsel and guidance, while maintaining consistentcontact with participants through face-to-face, virtual, or telephonic methodsto support their journey toward career success.
This position requires substantial understanding of coaching and mentoring to effectively support program participants in achieving success. The Career Navigator will utilize creativity, leadership skills, and strong oral and written communication abilities to guide participants. They will identify barriers to success and develop proactivestrategies to overcome them, while also supporting participants in buildingessential life skills. The role involves creating and implementing a leadership development framework to empower participants and promote long-term self-sufficiency.
1.CareerNavigation:
Assist participants by developing and implementing individualized career plans that encourage self-sufficiency and personal growth.
Conduct assessments to determine immediate and long-term needs, employability, and barriers or assets affecting the participants' success.
Explainto participants their rights, responsibilities, required actions, and otheravailable services based on their ability to be successful.
2.Participant Information Collection and Evaluation:Collect and evaluateparticipant information to determine eligibility for internal and externalprogram services.
Ensure that all necessary documentation isaccurately collected and reviewed to support participant requests for assistance.
3.Case Documentation and Compliance:- Reviewand verify all documentation submitted to support requests for assistance according to program guidelines.
- Maintain case documentation by documenting every case management session with case notesand recording all supportive services provided.
- Updateparticipant records (both physical and electronic), and include any relevant information needed to help participants meet grant requirements.
Collaborate with participants to create an Individualized Career Plan (ICP), identify goals and assess their needs.
Setclear goals and outline actionable steps for participants and suggest relevantdevelopment activities that align with their career aspirations.
Regularlyreview and adjust career plans to align with evolving participant needs andgoals.
5.Case ManagementActivities:
Conductessential case management tasks, including assisting participants with jobsearches, providing referrals to outside agencies, preparing success stories,and attending relevant meetings or training sessions.
Travelas needed to support participants with specific case management needs or site visits.
Pull and generate reports related to participant progress, case management activities, and program outcomes. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of datato maintain compliance with grant requirements.
6.Progress Monitoring and Support:- Consistentlymonitor participant progress through regular check-ins, phone calls, site visits, and case management appointments offering feedback and guidance to helpthem strengthen specific skills or knowledge areas.
- Actas a liaison between participants and program partners, ensuring participantshave access to supportive services and resources.
Work with court system(s) and local, state,federal, and social services agencies to coordinate program services and ensure compliance with service mandates.
8.Professional Development:- Stayup to date with relevant job-related rules, statutes, and laws by reading professional literature, attending workshops, and participating in meetings and seminars.
- Continuouslyenhance career navigation skills and knowledge to improve service delivery to participants.
Keepthe Workforce Manager informed of any unusual or crisis situations that arise,providing guidance and ensuring proper handling of such events.
Skills and Abilities:- 1. Abilityto assess cases accurately and utilize appropriate community resources toprovide effective services to participants.
- 2. Strong initiative and independent judgment to work within established procedural guidelines.
- 3. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, manage timeefficiently, and complete projects independently to meet critical deadlines.
