Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting student success within a collaborative Pupil Appraisal Department. Working full time (35 hours/week on a school-year schedule), youll lend your social work expertise to evaluate and advocate for students as they navigate the path toward Special Education qualification. The position offers variety as you travel between 2-3 campuses, working alongside a dedicated team of School Psychologists and Educational Diagnosticians.

Youll focus on evaluation and intervention, rather than traditional direct counseling, ensuring all assessments and re-evaluations are conducted thoroughly. Engage in multi-disciplinary meetings like SBLC/ABIT, monitor interventions, coordinate evaluations, and guide families and staff through the special education eligibility process. With a quick-start timeline and an emphasis on thorough, child-centered practice, your contribution will be key in shaping educational experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Active Professional License and Louisiana DOE Certification
  • Prior experience in school-based social work, especially with assessments and Special Education processes, highly desirable
  • Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills
  • Flexibility to travel itinerantly between multiple school sites
  • Ability to fulfill immediate credentialing including district-specific background checks and drug screening
  • Eagerness to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psycho-social evaluations and re-evaluations for Special Education eligibility
  • Participate in intervention team meetings (SBLC/ABIT)
  • Monitor progress on interventions and collaborate on student plans
  • Coordinate, schedule, and perform student appraisals
  • Communicate findings and support plans with families and staff

This role places you at the heart of meaningful educational work, empowering students and ensuring equitable access to needed services. If youre an adaptable, skilled social worker ready for a dynamic school-based role,
