PHP/Word Press Developer
About the Role We are looking for a skilled PHP / Word Press Developer to join our development team and work on building, customising, and maintaining Word Press-based solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-quality themes and plugins, integrating third-party services, and ensuring the performance, stability, and scalability of web applications. You will collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver reliable and user-friendly solutions that follow Word Press best practices.
RequirementsPHP & Word Press
- Strong understanding of PHP fundamentals and modern PHP development
- Hands‑on experience with Word Press theme and plugin development
- Solid knowledge of the Word Press Codex, hooks, filters, and best practices
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Java Script
- Understanding of responsive design principles and cross‑browser compatibility
- Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases
- Ability to write and optimise SQL queries
- Experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows
- Ability to integrate third‑party APIs into Word Press‑based solutions
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools such as PHPUnit
- Understanding of web performance optimisation techniques
- Strong problem‑solving skills and analytical thinking
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Team‑oriented mindset and ability to collaborate effectively
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
- High level of attention to detail in implementation and code reviews
- Experience with additional PHP frameworks
- Knowledge of security best practices for Word Press
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Develop and maintain Word Press themes and plugins in line with best practices
- Customise existing Word Press functionality to meet project requirements
- Integrate third‑party APIs and external services into Word Press solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented PHP code
- Ensure responsive, cross‑browser compatible front‑end implementations
- Optimise website performance, security, and scalability
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
