Software Engineer – AI​/ML Systems

Must Have

• We are looking for someone with demonstrated voluntary initiative in a workplace setting.
• We need practical experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems, including hands‑on work with ChromaDB, Pinecone, Azure AI Search, or comparable vector databases.
• We expect the ability to build production‑ready retrieval pipelines for unstructured information.
• We value strong experience with Large Language Models, including prompt design, context handling, output verification, evaluation methods, and hallucination reduction.
• We are seeking proficiency in Python and/or C#, along with familiarity with modern AI development frameworks such as Lang Chain, Microsoft Agent Framework, or similar tools.
• We require experience working with unstructured content such as PDFs, handwritten notes, images, scans, and related file types.
• We need strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• For this role, the most important programming languages are C# and Python.
• We require candidates to be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• This is an on‑site role, so candidates must live within a reasonable commute of Davis, CA.

• We will have you work with Large Language Models and machine learning concepts to support intelligent healthcare software.
• You will process unstructured medical data and help answer complex medical questions using Retrieval-Augmented Generation and related methods.
• You will design and build AI‑enabled tools that simplify the creation, customization, and validation of medical forms.
• You will develop systems that transform user‑submitted queries into reports inside our existing software platform.
• You will make thoughtful engineering decisions and contribute to expanding our machine learning capabilities.

This is a full‑time, in‑person position based in Davis, CA, with a salary range of $100,000 to $160,000 per year. We offer 401(k) matching, dental insurance, health insurance, and paid time off. Candidates should reside in or near Davis, including the Sacramento, Roseville, Vacaville, Woodland, and Fairfield areas.
