Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney’s media business worldwide.
What You’ll Do- Build components of a large‑scale orchestration platform for VOD ad serving.
- Contribute to best engineering practices, including design patterns, CI/CD, code review, and automated testing.
- Drive innovative solutions by applying cutting‑edge technologies such as LLM‑assisted processing or model‑driven decisioning.
- Participate in all phases of the software lifecycle: design, experimentation, implementation, and testing.
- Collaborate with program managers, product managers, SDETs, and researchers in an open and innovative environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience creating and coding backend services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in at least one JVM language.
- Experience with cloud providers.
- Familiarity with databases (SQL and No
SQL). - Experience investigating technical components and owning feature development.
- Comprehensive experience with Spring Boot and related Spring projects.
- Experience with non‑relational databases (e.g., DynamoDB).
- Experience with Redis and/or Mem Cache.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
- Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Ad Tech industry experience.
- Experience with prompt / tool pattern design, function calling, streaming, and context management.
- Hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, California: $141,900 to $190,300 per year.
- Hiring range for Seattle, WA: $148,700 to $199,400 per year.
- Hiring range for San Francisco, CA: $155,400 to $208,400 per year.
- Base pay will consider internal equity and may vary by region, skills, and experience.
- Potential bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
