Risk Engineer

As Xiaohongshu (RED) scales internationally, our risk & safety systems, platforms and data infrastructure need to land and run independently overseas. We are looking for a versatile engineer in the US to own the local adaptation, integration and stability of our risk systems, serving as the Owner of the region's risk engineering. As a single-person regional post, we expect you to both build/adapt and independently own operations and stability.

• Local Development
  :
  Take over the mature risk engine, platform and data infrastructure from China; handle local adaptation, integration and necessary secondary development to run independently in the US;
• Iteration & Integration
  :
  Follow HQ capability upgrades — integrate, test and iterate locally; handle region-specific business and technical needs;
• Stability Ownership (baseline requirement):
  As regional Owner, independently safeguard system stability — monitoring/alerting, troubleshooting, rate-limiting, degradation, failover and incident response; be first to step up and resolve issues yourself;
• Data Compliance
  :
  Ensure local systems comply with US data privacy requirements (e.g. CCPA);
• HQ Collaboration
  :
  Stay aligned and version-synced with the China HQ risk team; collaborate across time zones in English and Mandarin.

• Bachelor's or above in CS-related fields; 3+ years backend development; strong engineering and coding fundamentals;
• Able to fully own a system — both develop/adapt/iterate and independently handle on-call and production issues (this is a hard baseline);
• Familiar with high-concurrency systems and common stability practices (monitoring/alerting, rate-limiting, degradation, DR, observability);
• Strong ownership, able to work independently; proficient in English and Mandarin for HQ collaboration;
• Plus: background in risk control / trust & safety / content moderation, or cross-border landing/ops experience.

• Own RED's US risk engineering end to end — from local development to stable operation;
• A front-line international role bringing one of the industry's largest, most complex risk systems live and running independently overseas;
• Deep collaboration with top engineering / algorithm / product teams at HQ, with compounding technical impact.
