• a current, nationally recognized lifeguard training certification from a professional provider.
• a current, nationally recognized community first aid and cpr for the professional rescuer certification from a professional provider.
• a current nationally recognized water safety or swim instructor certification from a professional provider.

• prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify the applicant is at least 18 years of age using state-issued identification, driver s license, or birth certificate.
• prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education and certifications claimed by the applicant. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials prior to the start date in this job classification.
• this position requires a one (1) year probationary period.

• this is a non-competitive original entrance examination in accordance with rule v, section 8.1 (b) of the city civil service rules.
