Position Summary
This position reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management and is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and daily management of the Tulane Goldring Tennis Center, a state-of-the-art tennis and pickleball complex scheduled to open in Spring 2026. The role serves as the primary point of contact for all public use of the facility and coordinates the operational needs of Tulane’s Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs.
The incumbent oversees part‑time staff and manages all aspects of public and institutional usage, including scheduling, reservations, check‑in systems, website maintenance, and customer service. This position is responsible for the full scope of facility operations, including maintenance, landscaping, custodial services, audio‑visual systems, and overall guest experience. Additionally, the role supports the execution of intercollegiate tennis matches and tournaments, as assigned, and assists with both minor and major capital improvements and facility enhancements.
Functions of the Job
Serves as Director & Main Oversight of Day‑to‑Day Overall Operation of Facility;
Drives Revenues by Recruiting & Soliciting Public Usage of Facility;
Develops, Implements & Oversees Public‑Facing Website, Scheduling System, Check‑In System, etc. for Public‑Usage of Facility;
Recommends & Implements Hourly Rental Rates & Potential Membership Rates for Public Usage of Facility; and Generates Revenue Through Equipment Rentals & Maintains Proper Inventory of Rentable Equipment for Public Consumption (40%).
Serves as Supervisor for Part‑Time Staff Responsible for Daily Customer Service & Clerical Tasks at Facility;
Hires, Trains, Educates, Instructs Part‑Time Staff;
Performs Performance Reviews of Part‑Time Staff; and Hires, Trains, Educates, Instructs Student Workers to Assist with Daily & Seasonal Operations & Tasks (20%).
Develops Partnerships & Relationship with Campus Colleagues to Facilitate Facility Upkeep;
Manages Daily Operations of Custodial Contractor to Ensure Facility is Clean & Presentable for Both Tulane & Public Usage;
Schedules Court Resurfacings & Other Routine Maintenance Work with Applicable University Departments & Contractors;
Serves as Liaison to Tulane Facilities Services for Daily Maintenance, Landscape, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry Support Identifies Facility Issues & Quickly Acts to Remedy Said Issues;
Leads and/or Assists with the Drying of Courts for Tulane Tennis Practices & Competition + Public Usage of Courts; and Assists with Minor and/or Major Capital Enhancements & Improvements to the Facility (20%).
Supports Both Tulane Men’s & Women’s Tennis Programs Daily for Operational Needs Including Facility Scheduling, Practice Equipment/Setup, etc.; and Assists, as Needed or Requested, with Execution of Intercollegiate Tennis Matches & Tournaments Performs Clerical Tasks to Support Both Intercollegiate Tennis Programs’ Coaching Staffs (10%).
Assists with the Operational Execution of Six to Eight Home Football Gamedays Annually on Tulane’s Campus (5%).

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of facility and event management experience
- Minimum of 3 year experience in the supervision of staff
- Current certifications in CPR and First Aid
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to diverse user groups
- Ability to work as part of a professional team and collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Extremely organized, self‑starter and intrinsically motivated
- Strong organizational management and leadership skills
- Proven ability to multi‑task effectively
- Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
- Availability to work a flexible work schedule, to include nights, weekends and holidays
