- Support the Head of Aircraft Services – Americas with specialist advice and technical expertise to facilitate the development, adoption, and effective implementation of Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS) and tools appropriate to the Air Transport activities undertaken across the Americas, meeting the requirements of the Shell Performance Framework and the Shell Group Requirements for Aircraft Operations (SGRAO). This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
* Facilitate the development and continuous improvement of Aviation SMS tools and processes including the Americas-Air Transport Safety Case, model bowties, assessment questionnaires, and improved reporting on aircraft operator, facility, and business unit assessment findings and the required closing actions
* Address the requirements within the Americas-Air Transport Team for data management tools, dashboards, and the provision of high-quality data driven information to support the team’s goals and overall management of air transport risk to ALARP
* Lead and direct the delivery of air transport resources during Emergency Response activities as assigned
* Provide Air Transport facility subject matter expertise for the Air Operations Branch
* Assist with the planning and coordination of search and rescue (SAR)/medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) capabilities that are adequate and available to meet Shell Air Transport response requirements and needs in the execution of SAR/MEDEVAC missions
Provide a rapid and sustained aviation response capability to support critical Emergency Response requirements in support of assigned business units
* Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
* Must be a licensed pilot or aircraft engineer. Military-equivalent credentials will be considered
* Must hold US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 certification or equivalent
* At least 15 years of experience in the aviation industry, and have held leadership positions within an oil industry company, aircraft operating company, or equivalent military organization
* At least 10 years of experience teaching and training helideck team members in aircraft handling, helideck operations, and helideck safety procedures
* Aviation maintenance experience required with at least an awareness of aircraft maintenance practices including the management of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, maintenance quality assurance principles, and serviceability and dispatch requirements
* Supply chain/logistics experience required with at least an awareness of the principles of supply chain/logistics, and at a minimum, an awareness of time-distance considerations, aviation logistical support requirements, and hazardous material by air handling
* Project management experience required with at least an understanding of project management techniques, budgeting, and scheduling
* User level competence with Radar, Sonar, or similar aviation SMS, audit, reporting tools or software suites
* Strong public speaking/briefing skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively with senior management, external bodies, and all level of employees within the direct organization
* Excellent technical writing skills required. Must be able to clearly communicate policies and procedures and develop technical specifications
* Physically able to work in an offshore environment, achieve and maintain a Helicopter Underwater Escape Training certification, and conduct personnel transfer offshore by personnel hoisting device, and other devices
