Summary of ResponsibilitiesThis position performs duties related to the movement of inventory and materials. Responsible for driving trucks equipped with various configurations of dump bodies to transport and dump materials as needed.
Driving Responsibilities- Drive dump trucks to and from destinations while operating safely.
- Operate trucks in compliance with all traffic laws.
- Dump and position materials safely.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
- Perform daily truck and trailer inspections.
- Conduct preventative maintenance such as cleaning, checking fluid levels, lubrication, maintaining tire pressures, and changing trailers.
- Maintain equipment to ensure long lasting use.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Maintain load tickets for daily pickups and deliveries.
- Keep detailed timesheets of movement of machines and attachments.
- Report safety violations and incidents to supervisor immediately and follow proper reporting procedures.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of driving a dump truck.
- Valid Class B CDL License and current medical certification.
- Clean driving record (MVR).
- TWIC (preferred).
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety precautions.
- Maintain appropriate licenses and certifications.
- Hand, eye and foot coordination.
- Understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
