Master for Light Harbor Tugs
Edison Chouest Offshore is looking to hire a Master for the Light Harbor Tugs in Texas and Louisiana. Key details include operations supporting and escorting LNG ships and tankers. The Master should hold a Master less than 1600 GRT Upon Near Coastal Waters Master of Towing Vessels and prior experience running tugs or similar vessels with Z-Drives. Strong background in towing and maneuvering similar vessels is required.
Masters responsibilities to the company include implementing the Companys MS afloat, ensuring all Company logs/forms are utilized and distributed as prescribed, implementing and preserving all corrective action plans issued during internal and external audits conducted on the ship, and sending ashore to the attention of the DPA closed-out copies of the ISM-CAR Report and ISM-Internal Audit Report forms. The Master is responsible for notifying the DPA in the event any miscommunications occur between the vessel and shoreside support when the vessel does not receive a response from shore or feels the response is not adequately addressing the issue.
The Master must motivate the vessels crew by personally promoting Company policies and procedures, communicating orders and instructions to the crew in a clear and concise manner, documenting and communicating to all crew members, their individual job descriptions and responsibilities in an emergency, verifying all personnel have their original documentation upon arrival to the vessel and verify that the documents remain valid on a monthly basis thereafter, and verifying all crew members on board have appropriate licenses, training, and familiarity for that specific vessel.
