Description
Under the direction of the Bulk Loads Dispatcher, the Tractor / Bulk Tank Driver is responsible for transporting a load to its destination and operating equipment on the vehicle to load, unload, and disperse cargo. You will prepare the customer's delivery ticket specific to the product delivered and obtain a customer signature. You will operate a truck with a maximum capacity of 80,000 pounds per gross vehicle weight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). to transport and deliver product sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states
- DOT regulations require drivers to submit to random drug and alcohol screenings
- Regular attendance and timeliness are an expectation.
- Driving assignments / hours subject to change to meet business and customer demands.
- Weighs truck before and after loading to ensure weight distribution conform to delivery route state regulations.
- Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
- Inspects trailer before and after trips and submits report indicating trailer condition.
- Secures cargo prior to and during transit.
- Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Maintain accurate records such as driver logs, vehicle logs, records of cargo, and shipping manifests.
- Comply with Hours of Service per DOT regulations.
- Reads bill of lading to determine assignment.
- Reading maps and following written and verbal geographic directions.
- Make on time deliveries
- Maintain phone contact with dispatcher to receive instructions and report issues.
- Report to dispatcher at the time of any incidents encountered on the road including accidents and/or driving violations.
- Maneuvers a 15 ft.
- 20 ft. hose weighing up to 90 lbs. for loading and unloading product to and from pneumatic tanks. Maximum weight lifted is 40 pounds at each end. - Tank washes the pneumatic tanks.
- Adhere to safety procedures for company and all customers.
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Maneuvers truck into docks for loading and unloading of van trailers
- Keep their truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
- Personal conduct in a professional manner while representing the company and our customers.

Education and/or ExperienceClass A CDL Driver must:
- Have a valid Class A CDL
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have at least 2 years of Class A tractor / trailer driving experience preferred
- Class A tractor / tanker driving experience preferred
- Commit no falsification and/or omissions on any part of the application
- Provide a verifiable employment record for the past 3 years
- Provide evidence of any truck driving experience for the past 10 years (including phone numbers with area codes for these employers)
- Provide Social Security card or other personal identification
- Have US citizenship, permanent residency, or be an Alien with Authorization for employment granted by the US Immigration and Naturalization Service
- Meet FMCSA regulations for driving a tractor-trailer
- Pass a mandatory drug screen; have no record of a positive drug test with any previous employer in the past 10 years
- Pass a valid DOT physical
- Pass the Clausen Company drive test
- Complete Clausen Company Driver Orientation
- Have the ability to perform the essential functions of a Clausen Company driver with or without reasonable accommodation
- No more than one preventable accident in a CMV in the past year. No more than 2 preventable accidents in a motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
- Rollover must be over 3 years (Commercial Vehicle only)
- Jack-knife, rear-end, U-turn, or topped tractor/trailer must be over one year (Commercial Vehicle only).
- Serious violations in a CMV (defined in the FMCSR 383.51)
- None in the last 24 months
- One in the last 3 years
- No more than 1 moving violation within the last 12 months
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 3 years
- No reckless driving tickets in the last 3 years
- All careless driving tickets in the last 3 years will be reviewed
- No record of driving while suspended in the last 3 years (Suspension for moving violations only. If verification is required, driver must provide).
- No speeding citations of 15 mph or above in the last 24 months
- No license suspensions in the last 24 months; no more than 1 suspension in the last 3 years (Suspension for moving violations only. If verification is required, driver must provide).
- DUI or drug/alcohol-related incidents in a motor vehicle:
