Skilled work in the operation of light trucks and motorized equipment; and related work as required.

A current Louisiana Driver's License. Applicants must have their driver's license in their possession during all phases of the examination, or they will not be admitted to the examination.*

Applicants must have a good driving record. Applicants who have a record of two or more moving violations, or one or more "Driving While Intoxicated Violations" within the last eighteen (18) months will not be eligible for employment in this classification. Applicants may be hired pending the results of a traffic violations check, but any applicant so hired and later found to be in violation of these requirements shall be dismissed during his/her probationary period.

For positions in which drivers will be driving a commercial vehicle with a gross vehicle weight for over 8,000 lbs. but less than 26,000 lbs., a Louisiana driver's License (Class "D") is required. Selective Certification based on possession of this license will be allowed. If candidates are applying for a position driving commercial vehicles, the Louisiana driver's license (Class "D") must be verified.*
