About the Role
We are looking for a grain scale and probe operator to perform weighing, sampling, grading and administrative support tasks. The position requires accurate record‑keeping, strong customer service skills and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities- Participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre‑shift meetings.
- Identify inbound trucks, weigh them in, record information and take grain samples where required.
- Perform appropriate grain grading tests and electronically record grades, splits, etc.
- Direct trucks to the appropriate location and weigh out empty trucks.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers while keeping truck line moving.
- Complete documentation timely, accurately and legibly.
- Label and store samples according to facility protocol.
- Perform general clean‑up of the scale/probe house inside the work area.
- Follow OSHA, company safety, environmental regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- No experience required; 1+ year working in an industrial environment preferred.
- Grain grader and/or weighing certificate required or to be obtained before hire.
- Working knowledge of computers and software.
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong multi‑tasking skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow direction, use logical thought process, troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
Ability to frequently lift 30lb., frequently lift 3lb. samples, stand or sit continuously, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, kneel and squat. Tasks are performed in high dust, heat, cold, wet/humid and dry conditions. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays and alternate shifts.
CompensationBase pay $13.00 per hour; actual pay may vary by location and experience. Overtime may be available.
