Order Filler

Summary

Manual and vehicular transport of product within warehouse facilities according to specified work rate requirements. Responsible for filling store orders accurately, safely, and productively, consistent with corporate policies, standard, and state and federal laws.

The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below.

• Transport:
  Operate pallet jacks to transport product within the facility; work in variable indoor ambient conditions; work in temperature-controlled areas with cool and below-freezing conditions.
• Retrieve:
  Travel along aisles, throughout the facility, and between pallets and racks to place and retrieve product using a full reach of 84 inches, including areas of limited access; work at heights, in a conveyable warehouse, climb between selection modules and on ladders; place appropriate markers on product for inventory; complete job tasks according to specified performance requirements.
• Transfer:
  Manual transport of product to and from stock areas and pallets (including conveyors in conveyable warehouses); use protective equipment as required; use of voice select (Vocollect) system required.
• Identify:
  Determine product placement based on written and verbal instructions.
• Communicate:
  Recognize auditory sounds and signals, verbal communication, and written symbols; work with coworkers to ensure task completion.
• Work as a member of the AWG team so total job responsibilities are met. Actions must always stress cooperation, integrity, tact, and consideration with members, associates, and division management.

Education/Certifications and/or

Experience:

• High school diploma preferred; prior warehouse experience and warehouse mobile equipment operating experience preferred.
• Basic competencies: conscientiousness, detail oriented, safety minded, learning and applying information, ability to follow instructions in English.

Language

Skills:

Ability to read and speak fluent English; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence related to the position.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and apply basic math and algebra concepts.

Reasoning Ability:
Solve practical problems with limited standardization; interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions; work with coworkers to achieve common goals.

Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, adjust focus. Must operate warehouse mobile equipment safely.

Indoors with adequate cooling, heating, and lighting. Outdoors as needed. Warehouse environment with moderate noise from industrial mobile equipment and varied temperatures. Temperatures range from
-15 to upper 40s for perishable sections.

This position's basic purpose is to use all available resources to assist the Distribution Department in continuous growth and financial success of the Membership and Company.
