Heavy Forklift Operator
This role focuses on shipping and receiving electrical supplies in a warehouse environment. You will handle a wide range of products, from small boxed parts to large electrical wire spools, ensuring accurate packaging, labeling, and documentation. You will use scanners and computer systems to manage inventory, set up shipments, and coordinate with vendors while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Work in the shipping or receiving areas to process incoming and outgoing electrical supplies.
- Package and ship electrical products, including small boxed parts and large electrical spools, ensuring items are properly labeled and prepared for internal processing or external shipment.
- Unload trucks in the loading or receiving areas using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Input products into the computer system using RF scanners and basic data entry to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Use computer systems to set up shipments, coordinate with vendors, and track inventory and orders.
- Unpack and pack all orders, verifying that all items, quantities, and part numbers are correct before shipment or storage.
- Perform order picking and packing tasks to fulfill customer and internal orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load products onto trucks or flatbeds safely and securely for transport.
- Operate pallet jacks and, where required, forklifts to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and warehouse inventory checks.
- Handle material safely, including heavy lifting, while following all safety procedures.
- Perform basic data entry tasks to support shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes.
- Remain on shift as needed (8, 10, or 12 hours) until daily work is completed, including occasional weekend work when required.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving roles.
- Proficiency using computer systems for shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Ability to use RF scanners for product scanning and tracking.
- Experience with inventory control, warehouse inventory, and cycle counts.
- Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including picking, packing, loading, and unloading.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and familiarity with forklift operations.
- Basic data entry skills and comfort working with systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
- Strong material handling skills, including the ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
- Ability to perform simple math accurately for counts, measurements, and verification.
- High attention to detail to ensure correct items, quantities, and labels on all orders.
- Effective verbal communication skills to articulate information clearly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to meet all standard onboarding requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with electrical supplies or similar industrial products.
- Prior experience using SAP or comparable ERP systems for inventory and shipping.
- Previous warehouse experience in a dry, non-climate-controlled environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy schedule.
- Reliability and flexibility to work varying shift lengths (8, 10, or 12 hours) and weekends when needed.

Work Environment
The role is based in a dry warehouse equipped with fans and insulation, which helps moderate temperatures, though the facility is not air-conditioned. You will work in loading and receiving areas that involve frequent movement, material handling, and interaction with trucks and flatbeds. Standard shifts typically fall on 1st shift, with hours that can range from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and you may work 8-, 10-, or 12-hour days depending on workload.
Weekend work, particularly on Saturdays from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., may be required during busy periods. You will use RF scanners, computer systems, and warehouse tools such as pallet jacks and forklifts to perform your duties. The dress code includes work pants, basic shirts, and steel-toe footwear appropriate for a warehouse and material handling environment.

Pay and Benefits
