AES Clean Energy seeks a Project Manager to oversee high‑impact, utility‑scale wind projects through development, construction, commissioning, and turnover to Operations. The Project Manager will assist in due diligence, lead construction planning, define EPC scopes for projects near construction, and act as Owner’s Project Manager to plan and drive progress of active construction projects. This position reports to the Director of Project Management, Wind.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in RFPs and scope of work packages for EPC and OEM partners.
  • Participate in EPC selection and contract negotiation.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential wind project sites, evaluating suitability and reviewing environmental, geo‑tech, and other reports.
  • Review and manage EPC contractor and OEM schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, EHS plans, and permit compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate utility interconnection processes and related documentation for construction projects.
  • Engage with project stakeholders and represent the company in interactions with landowners, local government agencies, customers, contractors, equipment and material suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support permitting and jurisdictional approval processes as needed for project construction.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors and equipment vendors to ensure adherence to contract terms and delivery of contractual deliverables in accordance with the project budget and schedule.
  • Lead, manage, and facilitate project delivery with cross‑functional teams, ensuring delivery of EPC contractor, project stakeholders, and regulatory and permitting authorities.
  • Ensure project quality control and safe construction practices by conducting on‑site inspections and coordinating with third‑party firms when necessary.
  • Lead recurring project status update meetings with the project team, AES management, energy off‑takers, utilities, EPCs, and finance counter parties, facilitating discussions with a detailed project plan and high‑level status dashboard.
  • Manage the collection, organization, and filing of all project documentation, both internally and for external third‑party stakeholders and project financing needs.
  • Coordinate project turnover exercises from construction to the Asset Operations team for assigned projects.
  • Assist with the development of internal operating policies, standards, and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a project management role; wind energy project experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with wind project design and technical standards, civil and structural technical knowledge.
  • Experience with renewable project construction; wind experience preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent stakeholder leadership and interpersonal skills for managing high‑pressure interactions.
  • Familiarity with NEC and NFPA code requirements preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, demonstrated by clear and effective project plans and executive‑level reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, SAP, MS Teams, and Quickbase ideal; working knowledge of Microsoft Project/Planner or P6 preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various project locations up to 30%.
Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary at commencement of employment is between $113,000 and $141,525 per year, with potential variations based on location, experience, and other factors. The total compensation package also includes an annual bonus.
