Job Title

Manufacturing Engineer II

Position Description

Direct hire Manufacturing Engineer II position located in Louisville, CO.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Drive continuous improvement and reliability across manufacturing operations
  • Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues
  • Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
  • Standardize operations and maintain quality through documented processes
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to support manufacturing activities
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
Job Qualifications
  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or physics (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically 2+ years of related experience.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing principles and practices, engineering techniques and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (ex: NX).
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting process validation and verification tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
  • Proficiency reading technical manuals and schematics.
  • Knowledge of equipment calibration and testing procedures.
Nice To Haves
  • Advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proven track record in a space or aerospace manufacturing setting.
  • In‑depth understanding of spacecraft subsystems, including structures, mechanisms, avionics, propulsion, and high‑pressure systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement processes from the ground up, with strong communication skills to engage a diverse team.
  • Successful introduction of new aerospace hardware systems into manufacturing, testing, and production environments.
  • Experience in implementing AS9100 quality standards.
  • Proficiency in onboarding MES, PLM, and ERP systems.
