About the Role

The Sr. Electrical Engineer role involves leading the design, development, modification, and evaluation of highly complex electrical components and systems. This senior‑level position is suited for professionals with extensive experience and specialized expertise in areas such as power systems, control systems, EWIS, CD&H, or similar fields.

Responsibilities include working on advanced projects, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and technicians, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions. The role also involves mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians, acting as the technical lead for specialized projects, and staying updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering.

  • Lead the design and development of highly complex electrical components and systems.
  • Modify and evaluate existing electrical systems and components to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements and standards.
  • Conduct tests and simulations to validate the performance of electrical systems and components.
  • Document design processes, test results, and modifications for future reference.
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting assistance for electrical systems and components.
  • Assist in team meetings and contribute to project planning and progress discussions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Act as the technical lead for specialized projects, ensuring successful project execution and maintaining technical excellence.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 years experience).
  • Typically 8+ years of related experience.
  • Specialized expertise in a particular area (e.g., power systems, control systems, EWIS, CD&H).
  • In‑depth knowledge of relevant industry standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and avionic systems architectures and their design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation.
  • Knowledge of systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.
  • Experience performing trade‑studies to support subsystem architecture decisions.
  • An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving as a Responsible Engineer (RE), driving hardware through its lifecycle—including development, qualification, integration & test, Verification & Validation, and certification.
  • Highly proficient in electrical design software such as Cadence, AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer, or similar tools.
