About the Role

The entry-level Mechanical Engineer I role for the Ground Support Equipment group focuses on the design and development of mechanical equipment used in Assembly, Integration and Test operations for Flight vehicles. The position involves assisting in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing technical documentation and reports. The role requires clear communication skills, the ability to follow instructions effectively, and a collaborative approach to achieving project goals and meeting deadlines.

In this role, you will assist senior engineers in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components, including lift and holding fixtures, shipping containers, pressure panels, production tooling, and offload and transportation fixtures. You will collect and analyze data related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, structural analysis, or environmental systems, while contributing to the resolution of routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity.

You will also prepare technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and support project objectives, working effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you will be expected to clearly convey technical concepts and information to a variety of stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically, entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.
  • Basic understanding of Mechanical Engineering technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.
  • Basic application and use of technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity.
  • Ability to work in a team and follow guidance from senior engineers.
  • Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Internship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering or related environment.
  • Familiarity with design, analysis, and test methods related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, and/or environmental systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering CAD tools such as NX, Solid Works, or similar including a familiarity with detail drawing standards and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material sciences, and their impact on mechanical systems.
Compensation :

Pay Range:
$77,234.00 - $

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
