We are seeking a Quality Inspector to support both production and test for Lockheed Martin Space at our Littleton, CO facility and Coherent Technologies in Louisville, CO. This position will be required to travel to the Coherent Technologies Louisville, CO location a minimum of 50% of the time. You will be working collaboratively with multi-functional teams to support production and test of hardware critical to our national security.

This position will require a Secret security clearance.

A typical day might include reviewing and approving production or test planning, verification of product conformance to specifications and drawings through a variety of inspection techniques such as precision measurement tools, hand tooling, visual inspection, electrical test tools, and other tools and techniques. Upon completion of production, you will assist in executing testing such as vibration, stress, acoustic, functional, and thermal vacuum on spacecraft components before integration into the vehicle.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives working independently and possesses uncommon attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset, and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues if they arise.

You will also work collaboratively to resolve anomalies, become an expert on requirements and specifications, and interact with the customer as needed. You will be an integral part of ensuring our dedication to 100% mission success is upheld.

Typical

role responsibilities include:
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to execute test activities, identify potential issues, and determine if non-conformances exist
  • Providing a variety of inspections on components as directed by work instructions, drawings, and specifications
  • Perform a variety of preparation, in process, verification, and post production/test tasks based on work instructions, drawings, and specifications
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and eliminate quality control issues
  • Ensuring proper buyoff of all paperwork and usage decisions, and maintaining accurate and complete documentation
  • Preparing electronic documentation, including QNotes, to track nonconforming hardware
  • Working flexible hours, including off-shifts, non-standard work weeks, and overtime as needed, to support test campaigns and meet project deadlines

Basic Qualifications:
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated inspection skills in a test and manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools for mechanical and electrical components
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to access electronic specifications and designs
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong team player with a continuous improvement mindset
  • US Citizenship required
Desired

Skills:
  • Experience with SAP and VeCAMS
  • Familiarity with Automation Framework
  • Technical degree or industry-related certifications
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
    • Hardware Torqueing
    • Connector Mate/Demate
    • Cable Harness Inspection
    • Solder Inspection
