The Lab Technician III position resides in the Lab Testing Services department s department is responsible for the execution of DOCSIS Certification as well as all Commercial testing engagements. Our team plays a crucial role in delivering results that ensure compliant and robust Cable Modems and Wireless equipment is available to our members.

Why This Role Is Exciting

This position is responsible for executing tests as prescribed by test plans, contributing to interoperability and certification events, documenting test results, and operating test tools and equipment. The Lab Technician III will also analyze test results, execute multiple sets of tests, verify test plans and policies related to the test efforts. This individual will work closely with fellow engineers and participating vendors to ensure that the tests are run and documented in the proper manner as prescribed by project test plans.

This individual must be comfortable in a lab environment and have strong problem‑solving skills.

What You’ll Do
  • Execute tests and record results to verify interoperability between vendor devices and compliance with specifications.
  • Interpret test plans and communicate with engineering staff.
  • Use test tools as required by specific test plans and procedures.
  • Configure and operate vendor systems in support of interoperability and certification events.
  • Contribute to interoperability and certification events by providing expertise and functional support.
  • Analyze and document test results in a clear and professional manner.
  • Expand expertise into multiple functional areas as required by projects.
  • Verify test plans and policies associated with interoperability and certification testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications What Is a Must Have
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Working knowledge of cable systems architecture, operations, and procedures.
  • In‑depth experience with communications protocols and RF networks.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, interpersonal, communication, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work on assignments that are semi‑routine.
What Will Set You Apart
  • Experience with Wireless protocols and testing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Security scanning tools and procedures.
  • Experience in scripting and automation of repeatable procedures.
Benefits and Compensation

Compensation: The salary range is $70,200 - $81,640
. This position is eligible for bonus incentive compensation up to 15% of base salary.

Physical Requirements

This job operates in a professional office and lab environment. The role routinely uses standard office and computer lab equipment. Working conditions typically involve indoor settings, a mix of standing, sitting, and walking, and the use of hands and fingers to operate computer equipment. Office workers also communicate via telephone, email, and in‑person discussions, and may be subject to moderate noise levels.

Lab workers may be required to lift, move, and transport related laboratory equipment up to 50 lbs.
