Software Engineer, Backend Developer
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Training Peaks Virtual team and build the future of virtual cycling, running, and endurance training.
You will work with a seasoned engineering team, taking ownership of backend systems, shipping features, and fostering a strong engineering culture.
Core Functions- Build features that athletes and coaches love. Own them end to end, from requirements through deployment, with real accountability.
- Tackle complex technical challenges to keep our systems fast, reliable, secure, and resilient.
- Design and implement backend systems that boost team productivity, code quality, and long‑term maintainability.
- Craft stable, scalable, and well‑documented APIs that power our products.
- Contribute to our CI/CD pipeline and testing culture.
- Help elevate teammates’ skills through code reviews and architecture discussions.
- Promote best practices and explore emerging technologies.
- 5+ years of experience solving complex problems in large applications.
- Experience developing in C# and .NET.
- Experience with relational database systems like SQL Server or Postgre
SQL. - Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
- Experience addressing scalability.
- Experience with automated testing and writing highly testable code.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Team City, Jenkins, Git Hub Actions.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Game development or Unity experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Salary range: $111,216 – $185,360 for Colorado; variable compensation, bonus eligible.
