Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, performing month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

+ Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

+ Maintain the general ledger and ensure account accuracy.

+ Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

Financial Reporting

+ Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

+ Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.

+ Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

+ Process invoices, payments, and employee reimbursements as needed.

+ Assist with cash applications and customer billing.

+ Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding AR balances.

Compliance & Controls

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

+ Participate in process improvement initiatives and internal control enhancements.

Other Duties

+ Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

+ Assist with special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

+ Solid understanding of GAAP.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).

+

Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Net Suite, Oracle, Quick Books).

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

+ Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Work Environment

+ Standard office environment; hybrid or on-site options depending on company policy.

+ May require occasional overtime during close cycles or audits.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Experience

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

+ 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.

+ Experience in corporate accounting or public accounting strongly preferred.

Preferred

+ CPA or progress toward CPA certification a plus.
