A Project Accountant will help us manage all the billing and invoicing that keep our projects successful, as well as other responsibilities.
This is a full-time, onsite position.
Responsibilities- Manage project-related accounts payable, including timely processing of vendor invoices through Trimble Pay.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors, owners, and owner representatives, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of billing or payment inquiries.
- Prepare and process project accounts receivable, including billing, payment applications, and reconciliation.
- Review subcontractor AIA billing packages, ensuring accuracy, compliance with contract terms, and proper documentation.
- Perform contract review for new and existing projects, verifying financial terms, cost codes, and budget alignment.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to monitor job costs, analyze budget-to-actual variances, and support proactive financial decision‑making.
- Process subcontract change orders, ensuring timely entry, documentation, and alignment with project budgets.
- Provide general office support, including assisting with incoming calls and administrative tasks as needed.
- Support the Controller with special projects, reporting, process improvements, and accounting initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the accounting and project management teams.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a project‑based or job‑cost environment.
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with AIA payment application forms (G702/G703) is a plus.
- Experience with Viewpoint / Trimble Construction One (preferred, not required).
- Experience with AIA‑style billing systems or other pay application platforms is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
