Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
LHH is working with our fast-growing Louisville healthcare client in their search for an Accounting Manager to add to their growing team. The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Accounting and leads a team of Accountants responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of an assigned portfolio of skilled nursing facilities. This position oversees the monthly close, reviews financial statements and account reconciliations, supports facility and operational leaders, and ensures accounting work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
The Accounting Manager also collaborates with peer Accounting Managers to promote consistent processes, strong internal controls, and high-quality service across the organization. Our client offers tremendous growth opportunity along with competitive compensation/benefits and hybrid environment.
- Review account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, financial statements, and variance explanations prepared by Accountants.
- Support internal and external audits by coordinating schedules, documentation, and responses.
- Lead, coach, and develop assigned Accountants, including establishing expectations, assigning and reviewing work, providing timely feedback, supporting training and development, and participating in performance management and hiring activities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Accounting and peer Accounting Managers to standardize processes, balance workloads, and maintain consistent service across the accounting organization.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department for the manager’s assigned facility portfolio, including coordination of the monthly closing process.
- Support internal reporting and financial analysis requests.
- Collaborate with other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
- Participate in new-facility transitions, system implementations, special projects, and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in healthcare, senior living, multi-entity accounting, outsourced accounting, or another deadline-driven service environment. Skilled nursing accounting experience strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience supervising, reviewing, or leading accounting professionals
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and financial analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
