Accounting Intern – Asset Accounting (Fall 2026, Hybrid KY) | PPL Corporation

The Tone:

This is a hybrid internship position at PPL Corporation, located in Louisville, KY, requiring 2-3 days per week in the office. PPL Corporation, through its family of companies including Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company, operates as a regulated utility serving over 1.3 million electric and natural gas customers across Kentucky and Virginia. This Accounting Intern role is vital for providing essential support to the asset accounting department, contributing directly to the accuracy of financial records and the efficiency of monthly closing processes within a well-established and community-focused organization.

    Plan and create comprehensive analyses and reports using Excel, Oracle, or Power Plan.
  • Collaborate:
    Gather essential financial information by working closely with operational and financial employees.
  • Support:
    Provide direct assistance in the monthly closing process to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Process:
    Prepare accurate journal entries and perform thorough balance sheet reconciliations, while also compiling data for reports and maintaining files.
The Must-Haves
  • Background:
    Currently enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours), pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, positioned as an entry-level professional.
  • Experience:

    Requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 and demonstrated excellent computer skills.
  • Skills:

    Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong analytical capabilities, and effective data organization.
