Accountant, Financial Reporting, Cost Accountant

Overview

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will support core accounting functions including job costing, general ledger activity, and balance sheet management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments. This position offers exposure to operational accounting processes while contributing to accurate financial reporting and supporting the month-end close process.

• Perform job costing analysis to track project and production costs and ensure accurate cost allocation
• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with the month-end close process
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed
• Assist in preparing and reviewing trial balances and supporting schedules
• Support the preparation of financial reports and internal management reporting
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrections
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate cost tracking
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency within the accounting function

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-3 years of accounting experience

• Exposure to job costing or cost accounting concepts
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Comfortable communicating with cross-functional teams

• Experience working with manufacturing or production-based accounting systems
• Exposure to inventory or cost accounting processes
