Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting to management.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
• Analyze financial statements and investigate variances.
• Assist with financial reporting and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Prepare and review accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset schedules.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Support process improvement initiatives and implementation of accounting best practices.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, payroll, and other departments on accounting-related matters.
• Mentor and assist junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
