Bookkeeper Position

We are looking for a dependable bookkeeper to support daily accounting operations and keep financial information accurate and current for the organization in Shively, Kentucky. This long-term contract position is well suited for someone who is highly organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable handling a steady flow of financial activity in a busy environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to smooth business operations by managing records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with routine reporting and financial administration.

Responsibilities:

• Enter and maintain day-to-day financial activity, ensuring transactions such as customer payments, vendor invoices, receipts, and disbursements are recorded accurately.
• Review and reconcile ledger balances to help preserve the integrity of accounting records and identify discrepancies promptly.
• Complete routine bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate any variances in a timely manner.
• Support accounts payable activities by verifying invoice details, applying proper coding, securing approvals, and preparing payments.
• Oversee accounts receivable tasks by issuing customer invoices, applying incoming payments, and following up on overdue balances.
• Assist with payroll processing or provide administrative support for payroll-related functions as needed.
• Contribute to month-end close activities and prepare financial summaries or supporting reports for leadership review.
• Maintain organized financial files and documentation in both digital and physical formats to support accessibility and compliance.
• Monitor cash activity and provide bookkeeping support for budgeting efforts, year-end reviews, and audit preparation with external accounting partners.
