Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Leads the accounting department’s internal audit process across assigned entities by establishing internal responsibilities, coordinating accounting deliverables, monitoring progress, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring information submitted for audit is accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Serves as the accounting department’s primary liaison with the Tax Compliance team, coordinating accounting support for audit requirements, communicating the status of deliverables, escalating internal issues, and supporting the Tax Compliance team’s management of external auditor relationships and engagement activities.
  • Oversees the accounting department’s response to audit requests, including assigning requests to the appropriate accounting teams, reviewing supporting documentation, monitoring outstanding items, and ensuring responses are consistent across entities and engagements.
  • Oversees the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, including supporting schedules, disclosures, footnotes, management reports, and reporting packages, to ensure completeness, consistency, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Directs the organization’s consolidation process, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations, ownership structures, consolidation methodologies, and reporting consistency across legal entities, joint ventures, and development projects.
  • Reviews and approves proposed audit adjustments and technical accounting conclusions, evaluates their financial statement impact, coordinates resolution with accounting leadership, and communicates the accounting department’s conclusions to the Tax Compliance team.
  • Oversees the development and consistent application of accounting policies, financial reporting standards, and supporting documentation requirements throughout the accounting organization.
  • Provides leadership and technical guidance to Accounting Managers, Assistant Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, and accounting staff on audit support, consolidations, financial reporting, complex accounting matters, and year-round audit readiness.
Summary of Non
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the accounting department’s principal technical resource for audit-related accounting matters, including proposed adjustments, financial statement presentation, supporting analyses, accounting estimates, and complex or unusual transactions.
  • Partners with the Tax Compliance team throughout each audit engagement by clarifying accounting matters, preparing technical responses, participating in issue-resolution discussions, and providing the accounting information needed to support the external audit process.
  • Researches, analyzes, and documents accounting conclusions for significant or unusual transactions through technical accounting memoranda, position papers, calculations, and supporting analyses.
  • Evaluates the accounting implications of acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, refinancings, debt arrangements, joint ventures, partnership structures, equity transactions, and other complex business activities.
  • Reviews audit findings and proposed adjustments, assesses the underlying accounting and control implications, recommends appropriate responses, and works with operational accounting leaders to implement approved corrections.
